It's a girl!

So we got to find out what we're having and we are excited to be having a girl! We thought everyone might enjoy seeing some of the ultrasound pictures.

For Chelsea's family we gave them all cherry Creamies with a pink center and announced we're having a girl.

Then we showed them the Ultrasound pictures. They were so happy. This will be Kevin and Carolyn's first grand-kid. My family was all excited as well. It's fun to hear how excited everyone is for us.

One of the things that we did for the fourth of July is go down to my parents house and have a hot dog roast. My parents had some giant sparklers that I was excited about. See how happy I am, I always like fireworks! Very entertaining and fun. Don't worry, no one was injured:)

When I roast marshmallows, I go big! It took a while, but here I am proud of my golden brown giant marshmallow:) We had fun throwing grapes at each other and eating our burnt hot dogs. We even had some dutch oven peach cobbler. We love to get together with the family. We believe we truly have the best family ever!

THE GETAWAY

For Chelsea's birthday I planned a little weekend getaway. We stayed at the homestead resort. Here is the view outside our cottage sweet. Below is the view looking outside our door.

We enjoyed our stay. On our way to go swimming at the pool we walked the grounds and saw a little bit of wildlife like a gopher and a butterfly. Later that day a deer was standing right outside our porch area.

Here is a picture of the room. We were excited because we were able to rent a movie and watch it in the room and it had a huge bathroom and tub.

Of course some of the highlights include food! We ate lunch at Main St Pizza and Noodle, one of the places we ate while we were on our honeymoon. Here I am enjoying my pasta.

Chelsea is definitely enjoying her pasta. We still like that place.

We ate dinner at the grill in the main building. We got to sit at a table outside on the balcony up against the fish pond. There were geese and all kinds of fish in the water.

We ordered our food and fed the fish while we waited. Chelsea ordered a chicken fried steak and it was as big as her plate. I got a big rib-eye steak. The food was great! It's so pretty in Park City this time of year.

Below is a picture of us at a car show we went to on Saturday.

After, we got some ice cream at Yellow Snow. It's a cool little place this guy set up where he sells home-made ice cream and has games to play and couches to sit and hang out. Here's a picture of Chelsea on the big purple chair.

After we left Park City we stopped at Sugarhouse Park where we fed the seagulls and Ducks. Chelsea is feeding it some bread. It's always fun to throw in the bread and watch them dive after it and see how daringly close they will come toward you to get it:)

Then we went to the art festival which was mostly a bunch of crazy people everywhere. But I was able to see Richard Elliot, the organist for the Tabernacle Choir.

And that's how it went down. We had a lot of fun.

Emergency Room Visit

Chelsea had a migraine for two weeks and so the doctor said to go to the emergency room to try and break the cycle. When we arrived she was very tense and her heart rate was high. But after she got the drugs flowing in the IV she felt great! The picture was taken after we had been there for a while.

She fell right asleep and felt good for two days! It was great, it gave us the opportunity to celebrate her birthday and also our two year anniversary which is next month.

She still has the headache but there is not much she can do right now. Some days are better than others. We hope that after she has the baby the headache will go away. She's doing a good job dealing with it.

Expedition to the hidden hot springs

I visited one of my favorite spots once again, the hidden hot springs. For those who want to visit, I'll show you how to get there. First you follow the long trail into nowhere.

Your second step is very important. As you follow the long trail to nowhere, be careful and watch your step. If you are not constantly seeking your destination, your destination will find you: The entrance to the lava tube caves.

Make sure you bring a lantern, it is very dark inside the lava tube caves. Lava would flow creating a hollow tube. You can see below that the this lava tube over time is falling in. Navigate through the cave as fast as possible until you see the sunlight pierce through the exit.

When you stand at the exit of the lava tube caves you must pass through the molten eye. Only the penitent man will pass.

Now you will need to climb your way out. What you see below is a spot where millions of years ago this tube collapsed. This is what you see when you exit the tube, you are still in the lava flow path.

Once you are out, you have made it! You have found the hidden hot springs. Due to the volcanic activity still in the area the water is heated. It's very relaxing after a long expedition!

These hot springs are lava tubes as well getting darker and darker as they reach deeper into the ground. Don't try to touch the bottom!

SALT LAKE TEMPLE VISIT

Chelsea and I had fun on our date night this past weekend. We went to Prince of Persia and then headed up to temple square. We went into the visitor center and walked around. They have been updating everything and it's really nice. Here we are at the Cristus:

Here is the photo we took of the Cristus. It's a nice place to think about the savior and picture what it would be like to be in his presence. I enjoyed sitting there for a moment with the temple in view behind us. We watched as several people who came to visit were taught about families and the plan of God. It reminded me of the blessing of the gospel restored for us to return to Him.

We got a photo of the Celestial room!

it was the second day the new model temple was open to the public and we were excited to go see it. It was incredibly detailed as you can see in the above picture of the Celestial Room. It was fun to see the layout of the temple in 3D. It would be fun to be able to see the entire temple inside. This was mainly built to avoid the negative curiosity of the public and I'm glad they had it made. It's my favorite!

You can see the cut out view of the temple and we would recommend everyone check it out when they are at temple square. We had a lot of fun going through the visitor centers.

It's cool because, now we can look at the temple and know which windows are to the celestial room and see parts of the temple you have never seen before.

After we visited Temple Square we ate some Chinese food at Five Star Restaurant. It was pretty good. I got Tangerine Chicken and Chelsea got Sesame Chicken.

They also serve Thai and Filipino food. We got a Filipino dessert called Halo-Halo. It was very weird. It was a little bit of everything: Shaved ice, purple ice-cream, some type of jelly, giant tapioca balls, jello, jelly candy, plantain, milk.. I don't really know what it all was and it tasted weird too. But it was fun to try! The owners were nice and we had a good time!

Mountain Road Trip Story

Our life is so exciting! I just wanted to post a small tidbit of our fun adventure. We decided to take a drive down south for the day:)

This is a picture of an actual dwarf monk house. It's a place of solitude. As you can see in this picture it's nice and dry. It was a nice day... so nice, it was suspicious. We felt like we were being watched.

As we drove through one of the canyons there was plenty of untouched white snow! This is a picture of a rare evergreen grove that only grows in parallel lines along fault lines along the Wasatch Front. The seismic activity allows them to grow where other trees cannot. We were lucky to see these. It took us several hours to get to the peak here.

We noticed some foot prints and didn't think much of it. There was a leaf next to one of them and so I got a picture because I thought it looked cool. Just picture it: A leaf hangs on through the winter and is the last remaining on the tree through the blizzards and snow. It finally falls on a hot spring day soaking in the sun and melting the snow slowly. As the snow continues to melt it will gently be laid on the ground as the snow melts beneath it and it will become one with the Earth, like a Ninja.

As I was pondering my photo, Chelsea said, "look a cool little shack!" I looked down the ravine and snapped a picture. It said no trespassing, but we didn't care because we wanted to get some pictures! So we went slowly down the ravine to get a closer look at this mysterious little shack. Right then, two police officers jumped out and started chasing us, yelling "No Trespassing. No Trespassing!" It was a set up. They knew we were coming!

Chelsea ducked behind a tree. Isaiah wasn't so lucky. Confused, he was stuck in the snow and couldn't get away. I knew I had to help him get out before they could catch him.

Luckily, I had recently learned the art of walking on frozen water from the ancient ungie warrior master, Chuan Yeung. You can see the state of concentration I am in by may facial expression. Also note the pure balance over six feet of snow. These police officers didn't know what they were up against. I saved Isaiah, but where was Chelsea? - I thought to myself.

As I got away with my ninja moves, I saw they had got Chelsea and put her in the police car hidden around the bend. I couldn't let that happen, so I went to save her too...

...But I was too late. They took her to jail. It was okay though, she only had to be there for like five minutes. I broke open the bars with my Ninja Warrior strength and we rode off on my trusty stead. Which is a Percheron Goliath by the way, which is really cool.

This story is obviously true and is really good. No animals were hurt during our adventure. One got close but I saved it with my ninja moves because I'm smooth like that. I love Chelsea and even though she is an escaped convict she is a good person. I'll always protect her with my incredible ninja muscle strength no matter what. Festival of Colors photos

we arrived at the Hare Krishna Temple in Spanish fork a couple of
hours before the Holi Festival Began and this is what it looked like.
We took the bus to get there. For those who plan on going next year
it will be a lot better because the road will be widened and they are learning to have shuttles to minimize the time it takes to get out of there!

We had a ton of fun. For those of you who haven't been, it's simply
crazy. Everyone throws colored chalk-flour and as you can see, we all
get ...colorful. We don't really get why they have this celebration,
but it is fun anyways. We love the culture and the food. We continue
to go to star of india and they let us watch Bollywood movies while
we're there. This time we went with our friends who live down in
Spanish Fork. They are awesome! We decided to break away from the
Indian food for a bit and we got Pier 49 pizza afterward..mmmmm!

Everyday I am amazed with Aaron! I love his love for the gospel, and how passionate he is for learning anything and everything. I love how he looks at me, and the way he makes me smile everyday. I love his passion for music, and the way I feel when he sings or plays for me. I never thought my heart could be so full of love. I never thought I could snatch a man like this, I didn't think I deserved it. We have grown so much together and I am so excited to see what the future holds for us. I am so grateful and blessed to be married to my best friend for time and ALL eternity. What a great blessing and comfort that is to me. I am looking forward to the time when we have children, to see him in that role as a father. I feel so lucky and happy that our kids will be graced with such an incredible dad, with such a strong spirit and a tender heart! No, there is no special occasion or reason that I am writing this. It doesn't need to be our anniversary or his birthday to let him know how much I care and admire him. I love you Aaron, thank you for everything you have taught me, and will continue to teach me. Thank you for always being there for me, and letting me know that everything will be okay. thank you for loving me, even with all of my faults. Thank you for teaching me who I really am. Thank you for making my life and future so much brighter and full of hope. I can't really seem to find the words to describe how deeply I feel for you. I guess what I am trying to say is - thank you for being you and choosing me! I love you forever! xoxox

The pizza shop!

Last night we got together with my family and played games and had pizza. We had a lot of fun. Codi and Ryann put together their own little pizza shop and had us all come upstairs and "eat" at their place first. They had menus and toys for us to play with while we ate. It was really cute. They even sang us a song for entertainment. I love children and the stuff they come up with. i asked if their pizza shop was expensive. Ryann then asked me if we were rich or poor. i told her we were poor, she got a concerned little look on her face and then said... well, you can eat for free. it made me laugh. Come to find out, if we were rich, it would cost us $1, not bad. :) They were working so hard together to get all 11 of our orders right, and to make sure that we were all well taken care of. i was so proud of them, you could just see the pure joy on their faces because they had accomplished something that they worked so hard at. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. Thank you Codi and Ryann for making my night so much better! :)

Brad's house

We went to Brad and Lori's last week and had Thai food. Everyone loves brads thai food! We were happy to go and get together with them. They showed us their cat - they cut it's hair to look like a lion. It was funny so I had to get a picture. You can see the tail and the mane they cut.

We probably all ate more than we should have, but it was too good to resist! They cooked about thirty pounds of meat and you can see there was plenty of rice to go around. Good times. We appreciate Brad that he let us enjoy his great thai food. It's always fun at his house!

Chelsea is excited about her new cooking blog. She loves to cook and experiments often! So what better way to document her adventues in the kitchen than a blog?! Have fun following what she makes next:)

Aaron will soon be updating his music blog. He is working on writing and recording some new songs to share with everyone! We will let you know when it's updated. For now he is looking to do some firesides and teach piano to those who are excited to learn!

Here are the scores. This one I won by one point! Isaiah got three strikes at the end of the game and it was 147 to 148. That was close!

Vinto & Ice Skating

We had fun eating at a new restaurant called Vinto with Chelsea's family. They have grilled pizza that was awesome! The waiters took orders on little palm pilots and they were very quick. I got a potato pizza with goat cheese to try something different and it was good.

We went to the Olympic Oval with Mike and Mari for some Ice Skating. Chelsea and I had a blast with those guys. Chelsea thought it was pretty cool because we saw Apollo Anton Ohno as he was leaving. Good times!

Our adventure

We went down to St. George on Valentines Weekend and saw my cousin Bryce speak in sacrament before he left on his mission. It was good to see some of the family that was there as well. So we had fun while we were there. We drove down with Isaiah. Here are some pics. First stop - Grafton.

We came across a ghost town called grafton on the way to Zions. It was pretty interesting. They are trying to restore it bit by bit. Several movies have been filmed here. We just had fun looking around.

We have never been to zions before so this was fun to see the scenery. The first hike was only fifteen minutes up. The picture on the right is inside the weeping rock. as you can see looking out it looks like it is raining from the water running off. The picture on our left was our second hike to emerald pools under the waterfall. As you can see in the picture below it got a little muddy!

On our adventure we found some hot springs which were pretty cool. You could throw a rock in and it would disappear. They were so warm. We are definitely coming back to jump in!

Valentines

Chelsea and I celebrated valentines day on Thursday by going out to dinner at an indian restaurant. We came back for dessert and had fondue chocolate strawberries, golden rasberries, and pineapple with some bubbly. We watched survivor and relaxed. It was a fun little date.

I was going through some pictures on my computer today and I wanted to post them. These are of my dad blacksmithing back in October. He is very dedicated to letting people experience history like blacksmithing, even if it is a very hot day. It is hard work! I've been able to blacksmith with him and it is fun to learn about it. I think he is a great teacher. I remember when I was studying something I would ask him a question and instead of giving me a simple answer, he would go downstairs and get me a pile of books to find it myself. I learned that finding the answers for myself is much more rewarding. I'm grateful my dad created an atmosphere in our home with books to read. Just a few days ago he found a book Chelsea really liked. She's been reading a lot lately. We are glad everyone in our family is so amazing!

We got together with Dontrell, Dane, and his wife Taryn last week. Dane is going to
be a part of the Air Force tomorrow. I was glad to see him before he left. He is a fellow missionary from my mission, we've always been good friends. He just got married to Taryn and she is just as awesome. Dontrell is also a friend from Houston who is going to
school now here in Salt Lake. We had a great time playing games and singing. We hope that we can get together soon. Since Dane and Taryn will be traveling around the world we'll just have to go where they are!

We really like this picture of the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. There were some flurries that night and allowed us to capture the lights shining on Moroni. We've printed several 11 x 14's for Chelsea's family this Christmas. We're glad they liked it!

The lights on Temple Square a so awesome! We love to see them each year. After walking around in the freezing cold though, we are glad to be home in our warm house!

Piano fun:)

A few years ago I bought a Christmas book by Jason Tonioli, it's one of my favorites. I was excited to play a duet with him at Riverton music. He is such a great guy. I'll have to practice up to play with him again. His Duet was more difficult than I expected! I got another one of his books because Chelsea likes the Called To Serve song in it. So here is a picture of Jason Tonioli and me playing the duet:)
The most exciting news for us this year was our new piano. It is a Yamaha Clavinova CVP-405. It is an awesome piano! If I would have bought an acoustic it would have been a Young Chang, because they make great upright pianos. With our apartment, a grand piano was out of the question. In the end, what I wanted was something that I could record on as well.
I am so happy to have a piano! I've played it every day. We plan on teaching our kids on this piano. All the family has come over to sing with the Karaoke songs it has and play with the sounds. Chelsea's grandpa, Fred, offered to help us pay for this piano. Thanks Fred!! He is a great person. Chelsea's family has been so awesome. I have Chelsea and Two awesome families! It's been great spending time with our family. We are so blessed to be surrounded by great people!

Christmas!

Our tradition of spending Christmas Eve at the Reimschiissel's was a blast! Here is a picture of Chelsea and I holding the oranges we got from Santa Claus! :)
We had to get a picture in front of the tree too!Sledding was the most fun we've ever had on Christmas Eve! We were able to use a sled made from the hood of a truck. It had a bar welded onto the front for a handle, and we threw in some padding to keep it a bit more comfortable.

Jessie sat on the back of the four wheeler to get more traction in spinning me around. The funnest was sliding sideways, going in circles. YEAH BABY! Snow covered fields of fun! It was a great Christmas! I'm already excited for next year:)

Aaron's love of Popcorn

I love popcorn. I have all kinds of popcorn seasonings that I like to use. It has to be cooked on the stove in a kettle or it just isn't the same. I recently made some caramel popcorn and everyone loved it so I'll tell you how I made it!
First, you have to have a bowl ready. The last thing you want to be doing when the popcorn is popping like crazy is having to scurry through the kitchen to find something to pour it into before it burns! So that's the easiest part if you do it first:) Second, you have to have a stove top kettle. If you don't have one....get one! So far this is pretty difficult, but keep up with me!! I call my creation, Chocolate Cookie Pecan. This is no recipe, I'm just telling you how I made it so you can follow along as well.

Measure the amount of popcorn you want to make and pour it into the kettle. pour in popping oil like vegetable oil to cover the kernels. When the oil is hot, slowly pour a mixture of sugar and cocoa, equal to half the amount of popcorn, into the kettle. I used a mix called "glaze pop" which is made up of: Sugar, Cocoa, Lecithin, and vanilla flavor. the sugar with give it a nice crispness. When the popcorn is popped, pour it onto a large pizza pan with Pam sprayed on it. Brake up small pieces of chocolate cookie and put them on the popcorn like you would put pineapple on a pizza! Break up some Pecans and put them on as well. You can add toffee or other nuts if you want. Then make up some of Judy's Caramel and drizzle it onto the popcorn evenly. let the caramel cool. Then drizzle on melted white chocolate to give it some style! You can add milk chocolate as well. The easiest way to melt chocolate is to buy some chocolate chips and put them in a cheap plastic bowl. Then you fill a slightly larger bowl with water and put it in the microwave for a couple of minutes. Put the bowl with the chocolate chips in the hot water and hold it there while you stir. It works great! Sometimes white chocolate will need a little oil. Whatever you choose, do not just put a bowl of chocolate in the microwave because it wont work! After everything is all cooled, separate the popcorn and put it into a bowl! If you want to make popcorn balls, use more caramel and put handfuls in a bowl until you can shape it with your hands. TA DA! Have fun!

IRON CHEF! date night

Our most recent date night was with Mike and Mari. We went to the store and picked out three "secret ingredients". For Mike and Mari, we picked out 1. dough 2. salad dressing powder, and 3. bottled red peppers. I forgot what they're called, but they made some awesome little casseroles. They were great!
For Chelsea and I, we got 1. A whole pomegranate. 2. Two cups of plain yogurt 3. Asparagus. We made a dish that we call "Chicken yogurt grenadine". The two condiment bowls are the sauce and blended cashews. The chicken is sitting on top of Mustard greens with pomegranate seeds on top. We wanted it to look good.
We made our asparagus as a side dish with shredded cheese melted on top. We put it on this red place to make the whole Christmas theme stand out. This will have to be a new Christmas dish each year!
I loved this meal! I even bought some pomegranate 7up to go with it! Here is our recipe. This is a rough draft so hopefully it makes sense.

CHICKEN YOGURT GRENADINE:
you'll need

2 chicken breasts
2 cups of plain yogurt
1/2 cup POM juice or juice of 1 pomegranate. (save some seeds for presentation)
1 tablespoon of Xylitol sweetener (can substitute sugar)
3 teaspoons of honey
1/2 cup cashews
1 1/2 cup of bread crumbs
1 Tablesoon of flour
2 drops of lime juice

Cut the chicken into strips to desired size. Using 1 cup of yogurt, dip the strips into the yogurt and roll them in the bread crumbs. Set this aside

Make a cup of flour and water mixture for thickening the sauce. Use about a tablespoon of flour. Set this aside.

Mix the pomegranate juice with the remaining 1 cup of yogurt in small blender. Add lime juice, honey, xylitol, and a handful of cashews. Mix well. Pour the mixture into a sauce pan and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Slowly add flour and water mixture until it reaches a desired consistency. Remember it will thicken as it cools. Turn off the heat. Put in a bowl and set this aside.

Gently saute the breaded chicken strips in a skillet over medium heat until thoroughly cooked.

Coarsely grind the remaining cashews. Place in a bowl and set aside.

Place any green leaves over a serving platter, Then place the two bowls of sauce and cashews in the center with the chicken strips on either side. Put Pomegranate seeds for decoration. If you would like, you can drizzle sauce on top and serve them on individual plates with the seeds and ground cashews on top. Remember, presentation is everything! Enjoy!

The Red Iguana Restaurant

Chelsea and I went to Red Iguana. We saw on Food Network that they make seven different kinds of mole. I love mole and so I wanted to try it out.
Here is a flattering picture of Chelsea eating her burrito. She thought it was really good!
Chelsea got me back with a great photo of me eating my Mole Negro. I thought it was great, but I'd like to try the other moles. The Cardenas Family runs this place and they put a lot of ingredients into their mole. I thought it was a fun place. I also got a chile relleno, which was good as well. I would like to eat there again. We are still on the look out for great mexican food!

Fall Hike

Before it got too cold Aaron and I went with my family on a hike. We did it the fun way: we drove up to the top in one car and left another car at the bottom. So we started our journey through the Butterfield canyon.

Aaron had fun taking some pictures. We held Ryanns hands so they wouldn't get too cold.
Here we are walking along the trail. This is by one of several cars down in the ravine. It's tradition when we go on this hike to hit one of the cars with rocks. It's simple fun!
We all had to enjoy a break with some scenery.
The leaves had all fallen and filled the trail with their light brown color. It was pretty. The only green was from the pine. Can you spot the red hoodie!
If you see our blog often then you know Aaron always has to do something crazy for fun. One of his favorite things to do in kindergarten was to balance on the board they had in the classroom. It's good to know he hasn't grown out of having fun!
Everyone is looking at Aaron walking over the trail. Boston has his cute little dinosaur beenie onHe's crazy.
I stole the camera from Aaron! Say hello! It started to get colder. If you can't tell what that white stuff is on the ground that is snow, you'll see a lot of it next week!
We ended the hike by having a fire that Aaron and Dave started with a spark and some bug repellent spray. We cooked up some s'mores, starbursts, twinkies (which didn't work very well). Ryan found a rock that she picked up and said, "look a hat rock!" So I said, "wow, let me get a picture. That's awesome!" She was so proud. It was great to be in the mountains, they are so beautiful. We hope to spend more time in the great outdoors next year!

Surprise Date

Aaron and I had to go pick up my car because we had to get it fixed. I hate when cars don't work like they should. So I wasn't too happy about having to pay another thousand to get it fixed. Aaron and I had a laugh as we were driving: We decided that putting a sign on the side of an old Suburban to advertise a limousine service wasn't the best idea, so we got a picture for fun.
Another thing that Aaron and I hate is those gravel trucks that get on the freeway with more rocks flying on the road than they have as their load. We got hit by about ten rocks by this lame truck so we got a picture so that we could scare him. Can you read his license plate number? The last time we got stuck behind one of these trucks we lost a headlight and had several rock chips everywhere. Watch out for these guys!!
Anyways, the day so far was very lame. We had to drive back home from the mechanic. Aaron had me follow him to go home. I was surprised to get off of the Lehi exit. Aaron knew I was not happy and so we went to Thanksgiving point and watched a movie. That made me happy.
After the movie we got some icecream. Aaron really likes rasberry sorbet!
mmmm, and I got smooth chocolate!
We had fun sitting and talking.
Later, we went on a walk around the grounds. Thanksgiving Point is beautiful!

They had glassblowing classes every week. There were a lot of blown glass art pieces in the gardens. They are so fun. We had a great time!

Aaron's Birthday

The Reimschiissel's had a party for Aaron on Sunday before his birthday. Look at that cake!!

Before Aaron woke up I decorated the living room for his birthday. I had his presents ready to open, he was excited!He was most excited about his new journal.Later that night, we ate at Golden coral with mom and dad. The waiters sang him happy birthday and he got a rootbeer float with a candle to blow out:)

Aaron has been carving pumpkins since he was 16 years old
At the Fall Festival Aaron met one of the people from the Utah Giant Pumpkin Growers association. He was invited to Hee Haws to carve a giant pumpkin. He had a choice out of a 750, 350, and a 150 pound pumpkin. He chose the 100 pound pumpkin this year. Here is the first few minutes into it.
Here is the table with Aaron's work in progress. You can see a couple of the giant pumpkins in the background. There is actually a kid climbing out of the one on the right. They were putting flour in it for the pumpkin drop later.

Our walking adventures

So, a few days ago we walked to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. It's nice living so close and there is always such a good feeling around there. Here's a few pictures of our adventure: This is our favorite picture we got on our walk. Aaron got this picture and we are going to hang it on our wall. It reminds me of a scripture in D&C 88:7 ,"This is the light of Christ..he is the light of the sun"Here is the front view. As you can see we got there as the sun was about to go down. But it was so pretty. The dedication was awesome as well. We're glad we got to be a part of it.
It's weird seeing people there and knowing it's open now since we've seen it under construction and helped out with the open house for so long.

El Jaripeo taco stand !

Our favorite place to get tacos so far is called El Jaripeo. This place is awesome. Just say, "Seis tacos de asada y un burrito de asada tambien por favor. " and you'll be handed six beef tacos and a beef burrito . They'll put the meat on the tortilla and hand it to you so you can put whatever sauces, cabbage, cilantro, radishes, onions, etc that you want and then they'll wrap it up for you.
Here we are! You can also get tacos from the cow head, toungue, or stomach. You can also choose pig skin if you want. I'm not a big fan of those. So we stayed with the traditional carne asada. Chelsea is about to load up her burrito with a ton of yummy stuff:)MMMMMM. Six tacos for me:)

The Mexican Market and Home made tortillas

So, I decided to make some juice with the juicer we got from my mom. Here I am juicing away!
Here is what it looks like before I juiced it:) I call it " the Dirty Green" If it look s good, here's basically what I did.

three green apples
two red apples
Half head broccoli
8 Blackberries
5 Strawberries
1 mango
1 handful spinach
1/2 Pineapple

MMMMMM. Chelsea even liked this one. It tasted great! I love to juice stuff. I also made some carrot juice too which is one of my favs
When I was in an area of Texas called Beamont, a little Mexican lady named Margarita would always make us the best greasy quesadillas. I missed them a lot. I had to get some Masa and make some myself. So we went to the Mexican market and got a tortilla maker and some other ingredients to have fun with and we got started. Here is a picture just after we pressed the tortilla. Just throw on some queso fresco or mozerella and wala!
And you fold it over like so. Like a turnover.
Then you fatten it up with some grease
MMMMM. This is the best way to make quesadillas. I don't like them any other way!

This weeks Mexican food comes from ......OUR PLACE! This is the final l product: One wonderful chicken taco.

First of all: Thanks for checking out our blog again. We loved your comments on our previous posts. Aaron has been tied up doing a lot of things and getting the Photography business moving forward has been a little tough. But we plan on having most of the details of the business in place so we will start advertising soon. We have a lot of exciting things in place. You will know when it happens:) Thanks for all the support. I know all of you are dying to see what our next Taqueria or taco stand will be, we will update our blog again next week about our next adventure. I won four tickets to snowbird from my work, so we decided to invite Mike and his girlfriend Mari to join us. We had a ton of fun!This is on our way to Snowbird! We were so excited as you can see:)First stop: The rock climbing wall. We all made it to the top! Here's Mike and Mari Go Aaron! I couldn't keep up with his long legs!Go Chelsea! You can't tell, but I'm like a mile and a half up in the air;) That's like as tall as the Burj Dubai so I was really high up there! haha
Aaron and Mike are so cool on their little sleds. What! Me getting ready to kick Aaron's trash! Get ready to race!All systems go!Aaron is excited to go down the Alpine slide.It may appear that this would be proof that Aaron won the race, but really I turned on the boosters and passed him up after they shot this picture!
We decided we all needed some self esteem boosters so we all got some attractive pictures around the table as we ate lunch. First , I had the pleasure of taking a bite of potato salad...
Then, Aaron tried to impress us by shoving his whole sandwich in his mouth.
By this time the squirrel named Gomer came to join in on the fun. So we got a picture to make him feel important.

Mari was quick to eat her sandwich before Gomer stole it. We had a great lunch and we headed out to the Zipline.

We went up the mountain on the Peruvian express lift. At the top of the lift was "the cave" On the other side of the mountain through the cave Aaron decided to have a little fun and so This will give you an idea of how crazy he is when you let him run loose. I don't know how he does it!
He would have climbed the tree first if I didn't stop him! hahaThat's what the scenery looks like without a crazy man in the shot:)
Amongst all the things going on at Snowbird when no one was looking, not even the photographer we had a romantic moment. The scenery was beautiful there.
Mari and Mike have practically the same picture too! Weird! ...They must have had a romantic moment too! They were probably just looking for where those bells were coming from? :)

Sometimes without realizing it you may stand at a summit and enjoy the view, thinking nothing more of the present. That moment captured, now looking at the past in a different view , you actually see the future.

Aaron just got promoted to lead a new account called Weblawsearch.com and will be working full time on that account. He has met together with the owners and they're excited to start. They will have him start tomorrow. He finished his last week on the Doba account and had a record 25 sales. He was pretty proud and so was I:) He was the leader on that account all but two weeks,
and I know he will do well with his new responsibilities. So here's the latest numbers on the Board Aaron is the two columns on the left.Here is Aaron and I playing tanks. It's a newfound retro game Aaron use to play with his cousin Dexter when he visited them in Idaho. You take turns shooting at each other using the direction and power control. Then you blast holes in the ground around them until you get them!
Aaron got a new bluetooth Wacom tablet! Now he can just lay back and relax while he edits all the pictures I take for our Gallery Image Photography business! ...Or of course, play tanks!

We decided that we are going to see what place has the best tacos and best Mexican food around here. We are going to try a new place every week if possible and include it in our posts. Our first stop was Raquel's Taqueria. I got a burrito and Aaron got a bunch of tacos and they were great. We like that place because the owner gave us free drinks. They used high quality steak, but could have sliced and diced it a little better:) The sauce they had was very hot, but everything had a good flavor. Overall we rate it three stars (five being the highest) For ten bucks we were filled. We will go back soon. We think they deserve another chance for us to find their five star dish!mmm...tacos

Our Second stop was at Lonestar Taqueria . Aaron and I have been here twice. The first time was better and they were a better price then. We found out they were featured on Food Network and so we thought we could try it again. This time we shared a carne desebrada burrito. It was good and had a lot of flavor . They aren't trying to be authentic at all. It's a pretty good tex-mex creation. We give it 3.5 stars. The price was about 15 dollars for us both and we were a little disapointed it came with some version of frijoles rancheros in this case , basically a bean soup of some sort.. We went to a family reunion for my moms side of the family last week. It's tradition to have it up Hobble Creek (which is officially said "CRICK" in the fam) So we went for a walk down thur by the crick. It was a lot of fun! We took my cousin with us who was up for an adventure. We saw several deer and a lot of flying things too.Say Hello!

We've been married a year!

To start our anniversary weekend off, I woke up and made Aaron breakfast in bed, it was delisioso!
Later that day we took a trip to bridal veil falls. We walked the path and had a picnic. The scenery was great and it was nice to be outside and spend some time with eachother.

We laid down a blanket by the path on the grass and looked up at the clouds and talked.

After we went to Bridal Veil Falls we stopped at FYE just for fun and looked around. We found a bin full of twenty five cent CDs and each picked one out . They were both pretty lame of course, but Aaron found the better one. I thought for sure a CD named 'Sugar Candy Taxi' would be the best...but i was wrong! haha If anyone want to borrow these let me know, you wont even have to give them back! :)
We went to the dollar movie to see the Night at the Museum sequel . Don't tell anyone, but that drink was from the gas station we bought on the way there. We are such rebels!!
We went to the training table too. That's where we went on our first date. How romantic. Aaron still drools when he eats Cheese fries! That's when I knew:) haha

I was in a rush to go to work, stressed because I was late already. I had just turned the corner and the sun was shining in my eyes so , as usual I pulled down the visor and BAM! - rose pedals fell everywhere and I saw Aaron had left a note. It was so cute , it made me a little teary eyed. I didn't care that I was late to work anymore. All I wanted to do is turn my car around and be with him!
Life may be stressful , but I have to remember that there is one constant and amazing thing in my liv life: My husband. He's always there for me and shows that he loves me even when I'm frustrated with the trials of life.

Aaron played my the song he wrote when he proposed. I love that song and he's the most amazing man ever!! I love him with all my heart.
We got together with Aaron's family on Sunday. The day of our anniversary and ate a piece of our wedding cake that had been in the freezer for a year. Thanks to my mom's layers of wrapping she put on it, it actually tasted pretty good. The thought of eating a cake that is a year old is sure a weird one. Where did this tradition come from? It must have started out as a practical joke and everyone passed it one because they had to do it too! Fun stuff!
We stayed at Aaron's parents house on Friday before going to the Salem Days fireworks. We woke up and Judy had made a poster for us that said 'Happy Anniversary Chelsea and Aaron' We censored out the part that said that we were her favorite couple so no one would be jealous! :)

California Trip

First stop, Las Vegas!! Here we are on the south end of the strip:)We loved our hotel's swimming pool! It was so nice, and we had a ton of fun there.I think this is the biggest hot tub we've ever been in. It was a full circle around the palm tree.
It was so relaxing after a hard day of having fun:)
This is us outside of the Belagio. We went there twice because there was so much to see. Those are the fountains behind us. We had fun trying to figure out who was undercover security.This is Freemont street. They built the giant screen over the whole street. It was entertaining since I'd never been there before, but I don't think I'll go back there anytime soon. There were too many crazy people!

This is the life. Aaron finally got to visit the San Diego temple and loved it! We had a fun trip. Aaron got sick on the way home and he is doing better now.

Here is some pictures that we took at the family easter party. It was still a little stormy outside so we did the easter egg hunt and races down in the basement. Nothing can ruin our fun though!

We decided to go get some pictures with our friend Isaiah, it was finally nice weather. ooooh, a bird:)

The Festival of Colors was last month. There were thousands of people there. It gets bigger
every year. We caught the tail end of things, but still had to park far away. A couple of good
friends had to walk about an hour just to get to their car! It was fun to spend a little time with
some friends and we always like to experience different cultures. Here's a few pictures we got

This weekend Aaron and i had the oppurtunity to go to the temple, to see Sarah and Jared getting married, it was so fun and they were both so happy!

wow! so yesterday I went into talk to a school counsler, bc ever since I have graduated High School i have been taking classes for interior Design but not once have I gone into set up a schedule, or to find out what classes I need to take to get my Interior Design certificate. So yesterday I went into to figure that out. She couldn't believe that I had been going to school so long and have not been in to figure things out, she told me all the classes i needed to take and I had taken all of them expect 4, 2 of which i am taking this semester. Also, I had not taken any classes that i didn't need to take to get my certificate! I was so excited to hear! i was actually seeing some progress, i had done everything perfectly and I didn't even know! So after this semester i have 1 more semester and then I am all done!!! i had no idea I was that close or that I had done such a good job! the picture above is all my projects from my design classes, except for one bc it was a computer class! whew I am so excited!!! :)

So what's better when your kinda under the weather then a warm bowl a yummy homemade chicken noodle soup! I can't think of anything! Oh and of course a pina colada smoothie, mmm! it was delicious. Thanks to Cami who is awesome and gave me chicken noodle soup mix , just to be nice, bc i was having a rough day! I made that today, i added chicken and i made some dumplings cause that sounded good. then I made a smoothie with milk, Ice cubes, some vanilla and a pina colada frozen drink mix, i blended it up in a blender and topped the glass with some sugar and WA-LA! there you have it, a perfect heart warming lunch for a cold winters day!

yay! I love Christmas time! i love the feeling, i love being with family, i love the snow.....which should be here already, and i love Christmas tree's! On Monday Aaron and i got our very first Christmas tree together! and it's a bubble tree, yes you read right...bubble tree my cousins invented it, it has a tube up the middle like the trunk and you feel it with water and bubbles come up the middle, and you can also change the color of the water with the LED lights in the bottom! It is so fun, we went and bought all of the ornaments and we decorated it together for family night, and it turned out amazing, i love it! After it was all done we sat and stared and drank eggnog, it was the best ! i wish it could be Christmas all year!

So the other day I was having a pretty hard time at work it seemed liked everyone just wanted to yell at me, to my suprise i came home just wanting a hug....well i got that but, when i walked downstairs i saw flowers, i was so excited, Aaron knew i was having a bad day so he bought me flowers, i wish i would have taken a picture of them but i forgot, they were so pretty!!!! That's not all, when i opened the fridge there was PIE, i asked him if my mom made it and he said no, then i asked him if someone brought it over, and he said no.....i made it! i was so supprised he made a pie, all by himself . and look how fancy it was, it tasted good to! i and to top it of he bought me a coke that looked like an ornament! it made my day 10 times better, i didn't care that i was just yelled at all day and i had a headache, all i could think of was how much i love Aaron, and how hard he worked to make my day better! i love him!!!!!! he is always the first one to cheer me up and let me know that everything will be okay, i am so grateful i have him! Aaron I will love you forever, you are such a huge blessing in in my life!!!

Ya I know, i don't update m blog forever and the first thing i put on here is more food.....hey its better then nothing....right? Nothing exciting has really happened, plus my camera is broken so if anything did happen you wouldn't know, ugh. Anyways, i'm done with that little tangent. ok not yet, the only reason i have this picture is bc we took it with Aarons computer, :) okay now i'm done....really. So a couple weeks ago i made BBQ chicken pizza and portebelo mushroom fries, it was way good, i was proud. if you would like to know how to do it, just let me know. I don't feel like writing the secret recipe for everyone to see! hahaha jk! its hardly a secret. but honestly, i'm just lazy! :)

What's cooking?

okay so the other night Aaron and I went on a date to Olive Garden and Aaron ordered steak gorgnzola alrfedo! It was so good, so I decided to try and make it. Here is what I did,

first I marinated the steaks ( I thinkg they were skirt steaks im not sure)

I marinated them in

- balsamic vinegar

- soy sauce

- and some italian seasonings, parsley and salt and pepper.

I let it marinate while I went to school co about 4 hours.

I came home and I put the steaks in a sautee pan with some of the marinade, it wanst very long just until they were done.

Then I sauteed:

1 red bell pepper

when they were tender I added:

1 tomato

and some pine nuts

after a few minutes I took that mix out and I wilted some spinach in the pan with a little olive oil.

then I cooked some fettucini noodles and warmed up some alfredo sauce, I dished that all up and I put the bell pepper mix, the spincah and steak on top with some little cube of cheese! wahla! It was good. I don't know if it was as good as Olive Garden ...but I tried!

Ok! So I was going through everyones blogs tonight just for fun and Aaron's cousin Tacia had a really good idea, she started a blog about her cooking adventures and I thought hmmm.... thats a great idea, so i hope Tacia doesn't mind me doing this. Im not going to start a new blog but whenever I make something good that turns out I will just post what I made and the recipe. :)

I love cooking and I love to experiment. So sometimes things work and sometimes they don't! :)
Tonight Aaron worked late, when he works late his work feeds him dinner, so I didn't make dinner.....but I did make a nummy dessert. It was way easy too...... so first I baked pumpkin bread, and yes it was from a mix, I just so happened to have it, so I baked that. Then I made my mom's
butter sauce to go on top which is, 1 cup sugar,1/2 cup butter, pinch of salt, and 3/4 cup of evaporated milk and you bring that to a boil and then you add 1/2 tsp. of vanilla, Then Its done. When the pumpkin bread was cool enough to cut ..... I cut it :) and then I poured some on the top and then topped it off with whip cream! it was way yummy! so that's my first posted recipe! hope

Tonight, I had a girls night while Aaron went and sang with Travis. Good Times!
